bent fuel pump rod
well i ws cleaning up the garage and giving away old engine parts, etc and i came across the fuel pump rod from my old L48 and as i was looking at it i realized that it was actually bent....somethng like the last 1 1/2" or so was noticeably bent???? wonder what casued that?

Unless it was just a ****ty rod and you made too much power for it, the only thing that I could think of would be improper installation.
I've heard about bent fuel pump pushrods before but I just can't imagine a fat rod like that getting bent. Show pics if you get around to it.

my uncle the " mechanic" 
bent one before. he tried to bolt in the fuel pump without pushing the rod back up in the engine. he kept cranking the bolts down and bent it. i ended up having to just put a block off plate on the engine and install and electric fuel pump. (the rod was jammed in the engine )

You think that's bad... my friend the 'Mechanic' installed my clutch backwards! That was fun pulling the trans the day after I had just put it in with the new engine! And if it wasn't for my literacy he would have also installed my distributor the wrong way.
