I installed an electric fan, and today I had a wire smoke on me while I was driving. I pulled into a parking lot and turned off the engine. Once I disconnected the wire, I tried to start the engine, but it would not start. I checked the ignition switch and it had a burn on it, so I changed it out, but it was the same. I checked all of the fuses, but they were fine. I am getting power to the distributor while I am cranking, but once I turn the key back to “run” there is no power there. I hooked a wire straight from the battery to the distributor to see if that would make it start, but it did not make any difference. Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.
