1971 a/c takedown
I am takeing my 1971 A/C unit apart to replace some parts and clean others. The hose connections to the POA valve will not budge. You can not force them as they may bend the pipe and you will have to replace the evaporator unit at the firewall. I assume the connections are glued!
Does anyone have a remedy for desolving the glue or whatever they used to make these connections tight?
thanks,
larry
Your issue is probably that the dissimilar metals have chemical welded themselves together. Replacing everything (evaporator included) would be beneficial. If your POA is bad they are extremely rare and expensive. Use a POA eliminator (about $110) to solve the problem forever.
