To do what? pull an engine from a corvette? Yes, 2K will do for engine with tranny attached.
One thing to note though is that I like to have a hoist with a 5 foot boom so you can go from the front. If it is a 4' boom then you will most likely go from the side, which you can do, but you will want swiveling roller casters at all 4 corners of the hoist.
I also decided against the fold up style because it didn't offer the leg extensions like the other style. I like to have as much stablility as possible when installing/ removing something as heavy as an engine/ transmission combo
That is what I was wondering about. The hoist that extend out (5') lose capacity as well. It has been 20 years since I have "yanked" an engine and tranny, was looking for some refreshers.

I bought the fold up style and to get under my 79 I have to remove the front, driver side wheel. Even at that, I'm just on the safe side of being fully extended.
