I have a stock exhaust, 2-1-2. Stock L-48 engine. With the car running, I go behind and feel the exhaust. The passenger side is super hot and the driver side is way less hot. I have a test pipe installed so the converter is out. Still, it feeds the same left right rear mufflers. Shouldn't they be the same temperature?
This is odd enough that I'm going to go and check. Posting here to hold the spot.
I don't have a thermometer to verify, but I couldn't tell the difference from side to side, either in flow or in temperature. The guys below probably have it right. I'd guess a clog in the muffler.
When I cut up my old cat last year, you wouldn't believe the amount of accumulated crud in there. No reason for the mufflers to be any different.
