77 with an drivers side rear caliper that looks to have been weeping .
I want to replace the caliper, but I am also tempted to replace the rotors also on the rear. The rivets have been drilled out so thats not an issue.
After I remove the caliper I am hoping that the rotor will slide off after a few hammer taps.
Are there any steps that I have to worry about regarding the emergency brakes when I pull the rotors?
Not really. If the rotor hangs on the PB, then rotate the star to relax the shoes. But really, why do you want to pull them? You can sometimes put the devil on the door by messin' around. If the PB works (as well as any C3 PB system works), then you could screw up that delicate balance in the adjustment. You could also have a bit of dirt, rust, debris get between the rotor and the hub and then you'll be chasing parralellism and brake air pumping issues. All of these things can be addressed but you'd rather not if you don't have to.
Not saying that you shouldn't do this, but at least come up with a good reason to do it.
