Manual choke solution
I don't like the normal cable type since they are too stiff.
Thought of an idea to replace the thing easily and cheaply.
Get 2 pnuematic cylinders. One is mounted on the dash anywhere, under it out of site. The rod projects though an unused hole or one you drilled and a suitable handle is screwed on.
If you connect 2 cylinders together and manually operate one, it becomes a pump, the 2nd one is driven. Very smooth.
Hook the 2nd cylinder to the normal choke location.
Hook up some tubing to the cylinders. I would use dual action which needs 2 hoses. Although you could run just one hose.
Now where not talking big honkin cylinders nor are they expensive.
You do need to cobble a simple mount for the carb cylinder and a decent looking **** for the dash. Use an old cigarette lighter or radio **** or fullfill your billet cravings.
This cylinder is 1/4" bore and a 2" stroke $5.95 Looks like a pen in size.
Doubt you even need a 2" stroke. If you use differing bore diameters you can gear the controller dash cylinder to the carb mounted controlled cylinder which ever way you want. IE. 1/2" pull on the **** is only a 1/4" movement of the choke.
