Default Tranny?

ok finally got the ride back on the road... i'm goin through the gears and i miss 3rd, then i notice i've lost my close ratio on 3rd and 4th only. i limp home and put it on the ramps and notice the bolt for those gears is loose i tighten itand get myclose ratio back but now it seems like thers no closeratio on 2nd only... all the other gears feel fine. does it sound like i'm in line for a rebuild or what. how tight should those bolts on the linkage be. when i snug em i can't get the tranny to go into any gear.. its a 71BB with a muncie M21 and a 3.70 rear..oh yeah and i can't get the secondaries to kick in...what gives?

Have you checked the throttle cable linkage to see if it is being puled all the way when the gas pedal is floored?

Mine tested fine at the NoVa Tuning for Beer tour, but I just re-adjusted it this weekend to account for actually having heat insulation, carpet and a floor mat in the car.

Sounds like you've been spending quite a bit of time on the car lately....

What's a "close ratio"? Do you mean synchronizer? Sounds like the linkage is not adjusted correctly.
