My 72 vette (350) bogs at higher RPMs. If I slowly accelerate it performs OK, however if I kick it hard - it bogs around 3500 -4000 RPMs. I was wondering if I need to change the timing curve. I set the total timing (according to LARS) to 36 at 2500 RPMs which put it at 16 at idle. I have a mechanical unalite with no vacuum advance.
thanks

If your timing curve is checking out fine (sounds like you did a good job setting it up and your numbers look good), start looking at fuel delivery. If the car flattens out and lays down at elevated rpm and open throttle, you may be leaning out. Check fuel supply (fuel filter and fuel pressure) and then take a look at carb issues. Are you running a Q-Jet? If so, check your secondary airvalve spring windup and make sure it's at 3/4 turn.

I had a unilite before and the module went bad, also did this just start after installing this dist, was there a carb change and what kind of carb do you have? My holley had problems with the power valve, had to change it to a lower number carb was flooding out at the same rpm's your having. check your cap and rotor too they burn out really quick, had the same problem when that happend.

Thanks - I'm using an edelrock 750 with an electric fuel pump at 6.5 si. I will check the rotor/cap this PM and let you know the results. What are the procedures for checking out the coil?
