I 'know' 80crabvette, and he wasn't 'pounding' on the '80.....
We spoke via phone last night, and he says it still has plenty of steady oil-pressure, so we feel it isn't fatal (yet ):
we may pull the valve covers later today and check for a broken spring/rocker-arm, or a pulled-out/sawed-off rocker stud.
