69 350 base engine crank question...
A friend of mine has a 69 base engine... and wanted to know if the crank was forged? He would sure like to know as his builder replaced his crank with a forged crank? Thanks in advance.

Yes, base small-block engines have cast cranks. A good rule of thumb is if the engine originally had solid lifters, G.M. put a forged crank in there to help it live. You really can't tell if the crank is forged without visually inspecting it....
