Default one more mount

I love the torque from my 383 stroker but it has taken out one more mount. first it broke the motor mount , then the trans mount and now the mount for the rear differential. I replaced the previous ones with poly mounts and intend to do the same with the diff mount. any advise on getting the rear differential mount out? it is a 81 with the aluminum batwing housing.

Hi Mark, I am not sure but I think I removed the drive shaft so I could have more room to get to the diff. mount. My advise on removing that drive shaft is to get about four feet of 1/4" drive extensions on your ratchet and get after it. Ok, you might only need two feet, but once you are under there you can adjust as needed.

If you try to take the mount out before taking the driveshaft out you're going to have a very tight squeeze. I used a reeeaaalllyy short wrench when I took the driveshaft out, saying that, I'd HIGHLY reccommend the 2ft of rachet extensions
