I am currently running a Holley 750 dp mech 2nds. I have read alot of articles on the Mighty Demon with annular booster, Demon claims their carb handles lower rpm range, when running large cam, aftermarket heads, intake, etc. Anyone make the switch and if so, did you like the results?
I have a 750 Mighty Demon that I've been very impressed with. It has many items that just seem to be improved upon over the Holley like the nice 4 corner idle adjustment screws that don't feel loose, the clear float level windows with level lines cast into the fuel bowls, etc. etc.
I had the Holley on Brodix Headed 327 and just couldn't get it to idle right w/o running to rich. Put on the Speed Demon-WOW-what a difference w/ the idle-ez. Not to mention gas mileage went up considerable and motor really smoothed out. Very happy w/ the BG carb.
I called a speed shop near my house today and they said that BG Demons are prone to fuel leaks. I am also interested in making the switch to a Demon carb but am concerned if this is true. Anybody know? Also, what is the difference between a Race Demon and a Speed Demon or Mighty Demon? Jegs told me that the Race Demon is a racing carb. What exactly does that mean, besides not having a choke tower? Is it not recommended for a street driven car and why? The Holley I have on there now seems to hesitate right off of idle and always has. I was interested in going to an annular booster Demon to help the situation. Any information will be appreciated.
on a different note. im using 850 dp speed demon carb and i have to say im not impressed. the float bowls where almost falling off the carb when i got it, and the secondary arm was in such a bind that i had to force the secondaries to open. my idle-eaze does nothing, and after messing with this thing for over a year, it still has off idle issues. my edelbrock carb ran like fuel injection. go figure.
