T Top Strap Loop Placement

I am replaceing the carpet in my 79 and what I would like to know is if the t top loops by the rear wheels should go over the carpet or installed on the body with a slit in the carpet. The one between the seats was installed over the carpet. And if the carpet is slited what to do to keep it from unraveling. Thanks Gary B.

On my 79 it came from the factory with slits in tha carpet. Have replaced carpet twice and with all three sets of carpet never had a problem with unraveling.....

I did a 78 and an 82 both had slits in the back end for the t-top ring and neither of them unraveled. The plastic backing of the carpet prevents that.
