Topping off diff fluid

How do you account for the loss of posi additive when topping off your differential? Do you try to recreate the normal ratio by premixing, just dump in the whole additive bottle and top off with oil, or just add oil without additive?

I have never had one leak enough to worry about it. I would just add lube. If it is making noise add additive.

In either the Haynes or Chilton manual it states to pour in the additive first, then top it off with the oil/lubricant.

If you dont, then you will not have enough room for the 4 ounces (approx.) of additive when the oil is at the top of the filler hole.

I used a Pep Boys available siphon pump to remove the old fluid...then added the additive....then topped it off with new diff oil.
