I want to get rid of the AC/heater box on the firewall of my 69 bb. All the under hood ac parts are gone and I don't think I'll ever hook it up again. Question--will a standard heater box bolt up and cover the hole?? I saw a ad that said they are different on a Camero, and they sold a after market part that was over sized to cover the hole. Go figure!!

Are you keeping the heater??

the cores and boxes are different, but nothing that can't be fabbed and covered.

I did my 76 a few years back.

Yes, thought I'd keep the heater. So you're saying that the heater box more or less covers the hole, but some fabrication will be required? Can you tell me a little more? I don't want to spend alot of time messing around with the heater. Can you gestimate how much time you had into yours? Maybe I'll just blank it off. Thank you

The hole through the firewall is larger for the AC cars. You will need to close it up a bit with fiberglass. Should not be a big deal. The boxes on the inside and outside are different. If you want the astro air to work, you need to open up the drivers side air intake as it is sealed up on ac cars. Also install the flapper door vents at the rear. And change out the heater control.

Best to get the AIM and undo the changes.
