I started removing things in preparation for lifting the engine out of my '69 coupe tonight.
I removed the hood and then the rad. Then I unbolted the rad support and removed it. When I was removing the rad support I noticed that the front sway bar appeared to have a slight "bow" to it. Is this normal or is this a problem?
I should point out that the car is up on jack stands so there is no weight on the wheels. I don't know if that makes a difference. I'm not too experienced with suspension/steering work so I don't know if this is a problem.
I haven't noticed any driveability issues. The car tracks fine and handles well.
It sounds as if sometime in its life it might have hit something. Maybe a parking bumber. I wouldn't worry about replacing it as it is not critical alignment piece. Buy some poly bushing for it and you will really notice the nice difference. Have fun on your engine project.
