Default c3 frame compatibility

Can someone point me toward a compatibility matrix for C3 frames?

Ie. which frames work for which years? We run a little corvette club out of paris ontario, and have been collecting parts for a while now.

We have a 73 frame, and a 75 frame in our possession, and a 74, 79, and 80 that are all on the road, but are in need of frame off restorations this winter.

Will any of these frames work under the 74, the 79, or the 80?

Thanks for having a look!

burnt71 is selling a 79 frame for a reasonable price, see the for sale section. He's in western PA.

The frame changed between 77-78 so the 75 frame won't directly fit the 79..... but it only involves drilling 2 holes in the rear crossmember for gas tank straps. I would think the 75 frame would directly fit under the 74.

The frame again changed in 80 for the new rear end the mod's required would be more significant to put one of those frames under the 80

I'm not exactly sure what happened when they went from chrome to rubber bumpers.

The 74 frame is different from all the others because of the slider brackets for the rear impact bumper

Default Frames

I have 73, 74, 76, and 80 frame (or pieces of them) in the garage right now.

Talking about the rear section of side rails of the frame where the rear bumper mounts.

68-73 is the same.

74 is a modified 73. A 74 rear frame section will work on an earlier car with fairly simple modifications. Suffice it to say, the 74 frame side rails have the same cross section as 68-73 side rails but it is not identical due to the bumper mounting.

The 75-79 frame side rails have a rectangular cross section where they attach to the rear crossmember.

The 80-up frame side rails have a square cross section where they attach to the rear cross member.
