Check to see that the bottom base isn't broken. These seat bases break where the top hinges bolt to the bottom. This will cause the seat to lean back.
If it is broken you can either switch the right and left seats, get a new one from Corvette America, or put a board between the top and bottom halves to support it.
My seat backs on both sides were broken. Leaned way too far back. Took out the seats and welded. Got rid of the 2 x 4 the PO had been using.
