Not being tuned out of the box does not a junk carb make. Inconvenient, yes.

It sounds like you were right to go w/ the annular boosters on your setup
which also should help those w/ Torker II.

One of the members asked me to check jet sizes for both carbs. I am not going to waste my time figuring out why the Demon is so much better. Let Holley worry about that. If members would read remarks from other vette owners as well, they will see that nearly everybody who switched from a Holley to a Demon has raved about the results. Don't just take my word for it. Others have had the same experience. The sloppy holley just does not measure up. Facts of life, my friends, are not always pleasant. I did not want to spend another $500 after I already had a new carburetor. I wish things were different but on a hunch I went ahead and spent the money to buy yet another carb and it paid off with big dividends. The Demon runs much more crisply. God bless Barry Grant and his hooligan ways. The sick bastard may have been the cause of my first gasoline bath, but his carb has come through in the end.

Are you sure you're comparing apples to apples. Was the Holley also an anular duscharge carb? Unless holley offers an exact replacement for your combination you can not expect an "out of the box" carb to run perfectly without being tuned for the engine in your car. It sounds like operator error to me.

Let me know if you want to get rid of that Holley. It sounds perfect for my 496.

It is perfect for the dumpster, not your 496, trust me. Buy a Demon and you will be much happier. If I knew it would work well, I would give it to you but it will not. I had a reputable professional mechanic set it up and that helped. Even so, it was never able to work anywhere close to the way the demon is working now.

I would be happy to take it, as would all the others before me that have offered to take it and pay shipping. Please give it to one of the forum members who know what they are doing. Merry Christmas.
