got 73 back from engine builder today everythings great except the blower motor wont come on at all. i tried the fuse behind the washer bottle ,its good, also the fuse in the fuse panel that says heater ,,its ok,,i replaced the relay on the firewall still nothing on any speeed.so anyone have any ideas before i pull the motor out tomorrow to bench test it?as far as the new engine its really nice, looks so different with the enduroshine intake manifold and the new edelbrock heads,,the builder repainted everythins so it detailed all over again.gotta run it for 300 to500 miles change oil and again for 1000 and change again.then shell be broke in
Make sure the ground wire is attached. And verify that the ground wire itself actually goes to ground. The ground wire in the firewall harness should ground to the starter bolt and there should be a ground plug attached to the blower motor case.
Yes, you can check it while in the car. I just cut a couple of pieces of wire and connected them to hot and ground from my jumpstart battery pack. I would look at a ground not being reconnected properly first, as Fred said.
its too crappy out side to drive it properly, it was hard enough to control with the old motor, let alone trying it now w/ the streets so screwed up. when we get a nice day ill probably take it out but i wanted to wait till i get some miles on the clock before i get hard on it, so much new stuff in there i gotta give it a chance. the engine run time was 1.6 hrs so it has time on it. she will be ready for the road tour this summer!!
i ran a grd wire from battery to motor, and grounded it. then ran a hot from battery to the hot terminal on the motor,,and it ran, when i leave the hot on from the battery and remove the grd and reattach the normal grd from the wiring harness it dies..also the reverse ,when i leave the grd from the battery on and hook up the hot from the wiring harness it also dies. so im thinking its being fed from a nother fuse.looked at wiring diagram and theres 2 fuses 1 says heater another says a/c/ heater.so maby they blew a fuse when working on engine,,gonna go thru all of the fuses in a little while

If it dies with the hot directly from the battery but using the ground wire from the wiring harness then you have no ground. Get an ohm meter and verify that the ground wire in the harness is actually grounded.
While we are on this blower motor topic when is one of the aftermarket houses going to develop a kickin C3 motor so we dont have to bubba later motors with spacers? Guys have been rigging these setups for a while it would seem from the posts, you would think that some manufacturer would set one up properly for us.
ESU
now its driving me crazy. when i shut off the key i hear the motor running!! so i checked thru the fresh air door it runs with the key off.slowley but it runs, when you turn the key on it stops
