i think i see some thing but its not what you asked
it looks like you have two oil fills one in each valve cover?
is your pcv valve on the left one near the front and if it is you need a breather
on the right one not a fill? or a pipe that gos to the air fillter if its a stock air fillter.

".....and observed the little flapper do hickey in the primaries and thru its associated linkage it slowly opened up as the engine warmed up so that little spring thing must be ok. A short hose running from the carb to a white disc like do dad is disconnected and the hose plugged??? Torwards the fire wall is another thing that has 2 hose connections on it and no hoses ???"

OK...from your remarks...the choke is working fine and it seems that your car is running fine...is this the case?? The plugged hose is keeping the vacuum shut down on that hose as an open vacuum will typically make the engine run rough...have you tried plugging that plugged hose onto the white disc and starting the car and see what happens? also, put a tube on that disc and suck on the tube, if you draw air, the disc has a leak, hence the plugged tube...then I have questions about the #2 pic, curious what that wired temp sensor looking device sitting on the valve cover is doing there..but we'll get to that...start with above......
