White letters or Blackwalls???
I'm ready for new tires (either Firestone SS20s or BFG Radial TAs) and can't decide - which do you think would look better on my car? Thanks for your vote!

That does look nice with blackwall but I prefer raised white lettering

I just put new T/A's on mine and went with black. Had raised white for a long time. Wanted something different. Since I have 275's on back, I probably should have done raised white with such a large sidewall. :chevy

With white letters or blackwalls as options, I like white letters!
Also been considering the Eagle #1 yellow letter, I like the unique look, opinions?

I don't know, 68L. On the right color car, they might look good, but not sure about putting them on a blue car.

Put them on white letters out first then you can change your mind if you want
to if you do it the other way around the white letters get mucked up.
This seems to be a fad thing as I always have mine whitewalls out and just wait for that look to come back in style.

Definately RWL. I just had my new Firestone SS20's mounted on the rims a few hours ago. I can't wait to get them on the car to see how they look. That old style Firestone script they use on the lettering should give it the right look for an old vette. If I have time tonight, I'll take some pics of the tires once they are on the car and post them in a new thread tomorrow.

I like the white letters because they seem to fit the C3 era. Blackwalls are good for a stock look.

With 15" wheels, white letter is the best. With 16" I'm not sure. But with 17" or larger wheels, I think they look best with low profile tires and blackwall out.

Given the car and tires, I recommend having the RWLs show! It looks great on nearly all C3s.

I think it depends on the color of the car and the wheels.
Your blue with rallys would look good with white letters.
My car (white with rallys) would not. If I had the chrome wheels I would probably go with white letters.
Just my opinion.

whites make the car look like a hot rod
the black wall (on the skinny side wall tires) makes the car look new and super carish

Sorry to go against the grain here, but I personally like blackwalls on blue chrome bumper sharks. Or red-lines. On lighter color cars I prefer the white letters.

How about 3/8" white striped tires? I am running Goodyear Eagle GA 225/70/R15 and I like the way they look......kind of stock
