What is the best remedy/fix to prevent the wiper blades from getting tangled up with each other during use. That really sucks during a heavy rain. This is one of my things on the "to-do" list over the winter.
Thanks in advance!
Darryl
I've experienced this with mine. This was a few years back, but I found a heavier duty version of those links that connect the wipers from the motor to the arms at Chicago Corvette. They're made from 1/4" square tubing and little Heim joints. This vendor must be one of the last businesses in America that doesn't have a web site, go figure...

There is an adjustment (on my 72 anyway) on the wiper transmision linkage. It allows you to move the wiper arms and time them properly.
Sorry...I'm at work and can't get pics for ya. Trust me...it's there. I adjusted mine this way.

Also some afermarket arms have an adjustment that lets you misadjust the timing. It's much better to have factory arms that do not have this adjustment.
Sorry vette64772,
I try to avoid the rain at all cost, but I have no garage whenever I'm out traveling. At times I'm 600+ miles from home.
I enjoy the hell out of traveling in the car I rebuilt myself.

I replaced EVERYTHING I could on my 82 to try to get rid of this same problem. Nothing worked. I finally put a 1 or 2 inch shorter wiper blade on the driver's side and haven't had a problem with them colliding since!!
It's kind of a "Buba" repair but none of the "experts" that have examined my car at shows have ever noticed .
P.S. I found that Rain-X only works well OVER 30mph.
you might need to bend the wiper arms slightly to change their relative position to each other. That's what i did.
Please don't bend your arms until you check the AIM for the proper adjustment procedure. I assume that your AIM has one - there is one in my 72 and an identical one in my neighbor's 73.
Thanks again guy's for the added replies.
I did the "bubba" bending thing on one arm just to get me home from Ohio last year. It worked for a little while. Then it started raining like a b!tch again. They jammed together and of course I almost piled it up.
I will search around and buy an AIM manual. Where is the best place to buy one at?
I'm kind of curious to see how to do a proper adjustment.
Darryl
Most of the Corvette parts vendors carry the assembly manuals. Mid America, ZIP, Corvette Central, Eckler's, etc...... They are very handy if you do your own work on your C3.
