Side Pipe installation...some ideas.
Am looking to install my Sidepipes over the next week or so depending on workload and have a few questions.
The pipes are Patriot, not the best possibly but Im on a tight budget and I wanted Sidies!!
So questions
My headers are tubular down to a 4 into 1 collector, diameter looks to be around 4 inches or so ( maybe 3 ) Then a reducing flange, another reducer and then off down 2 - 2 1/2 duals. ( will keep the duals for spare )
The Patriot kit has a 3 inch elbow with a 2 inch cone at one end. What I was thinking of doing was getting rid of the restrictions as much as possible i.e cutting the 2 inch end off the elbow giving a 3 inch pipe then removing the reducers off the header collector and using a piece of 3 inch stainless flexible exhaust tubing that a friend has offered. I believe it to be heavy duty stuff used on ships, he a dock worker. This way I have a better flow???
X pipe, H pipe, Balance pipe...what ever its called...If we fabricate one, what size does it need to be? Is it purely to help balance the engine load so will a smaller diameter pipe be ok, if so what kind of size would you recommend.
Finally, the engine is running sweet. Will the change in exhaust affect the carb and its setup at all?
Thanks all!

My crossover goes under the back of the trans straight across the car. It's not the optimal position but it is possible to do!
You can see the flanges for the crossover in this pic but not the part under the car. Flanges make it possible to remove to drop the tranny without a major headache.

Any other help...pretty pleez....
