Default 72 Vette Engine Question / 4bolt main

Does anyone know if the standard 350 engine offered in 1972 was a 4 bolt main or not? Thanks

All L48 (base) I've seen or heard of have 2-bolt main ... just fine for up to about 400 hp on track ... 500 on street.

Yes, base 350 engines had 2-bolt main blocks (e.g. L-48). The optional higher output 350 engines had 4-bolt main blocks (e.g. LT-1, L-82). Two-bolt main blocks will hold more power than most people think, and you can add a main bolt kit if you feel the need (in liue of purchasing another block).

2-bolt. Unless you are making serious power, 2 bolt is fine.
