Default 1981 Question

Can someone please just tell me what air cleaner will fit under my stock hood with a performer rpm intake and edelbrock carb set up? I have already tried to search, but I need concrete facts from someone who has it. Thanks alot.

This probably won't help, but I'll move you back up to the top of the list anyway...

I've got performer intake (Non RPM) and a holley 3310 on an 81. I had a 2" x9" open element aircleaner on it with around an inch of room. I upgraded to a 3x14" drop base, and I've still got lots of room to close the hood.

good luck
Dan

I have a performer also and run a 4" x 14" element. I had to use a thin nut to hold it on.

I have 2 buds that run the performer RPM with 3" x 14" elements with a drop base.

It will fit. I have a RPM Air Gap with a Holley in a 82. The hoods are the same except, I had to cut out the fresh air duct that a 82 has. I have a drop down filter from Auto Zone(no choke problems on mine) 3" K&N filter(Auto/Z) and a filtered K/n top. Watch your stud height. I had to use a regular nut instead of a pretty wing nut. You could always drop down a little on your filter height(from 3 to 2 1/2) Go for it! Larry
