I have not welded in a plate in the notch. I only notched the top plate on the crossmenmber. I will weld that up once I know I can get a belt in there. I also will be using a spreader bar.

I have a MARCH long leg twin serpentine in my 69 big block running a Edelbrock high flow LONG leg water pump.

Getting clearance on the X member was a piece of cake. Nothing but a big hammer to do the trick (I am not joking).

I am running a/c, power steering, and a 140 amp small housing alt.

I am thinking about selling the brackets and working on converting a OEM system as has been discussed here.

We put a stock 90s model Chevy truck serp system on my buddies 81 Vette with no problems at all. We had to make some minor mods to the passenger side bracket. He is running a L88 hood.

Here is the OEM setup mocked up on my car. Sorry you can't see the notch that well, I need to take some pix when the sun come out (maybe March).
