Sorry for this question, but I can't quite figure it out on my own. On my 72 I have 2 vacuum switches and then the wiper overide switch. The first vacuum switch I know and think it's on all c3's the one that opens the lights wihout turing them on. But can anyone tell me what the wiper overide is and the second vacuum switch? Thanks in advance...
Wiper override switch freezes the wipers after you turn them on. You would use this to change your wiper blades, by stopping the wipers when they are out on your windshield. If you tried to stop them by turning them off they would simply return to the parked position where you couldn't easily get to the wiper blade.
Thanks, just got the car and couldn't figure it out...
Order a reproduction owner's manual form your favorite Corvette aftermarket provider; they all carry them. While you're at it, order the assembly instruction manual (AIM). Trust me: you will not regret either purchase.

The first items I usually get when I do a restoration on a car is the assembly instruction manual and a wiring diagram...

I'm trying to debug my wipers at the moment... I do not have the cowl or the wiper door or the wipers installed at this time... until I see things working properly.
Which was is ON and which way if OFF? With the switch in place under the steering column - do I turn to the right (toward the passenger side) for override or turn to the left (toward the driver side) for override.
"A rotary Service switch mounted under the dash in steering column area is used to stop the wiper blades in a serviceable position on the windshield. This switch should never be left open for more than short service periods because it does not allow the motor to come to a park position. This can result in a dead battery even with the igntion switch turned off."
AND
"There is a constant drain on the battery with the service switch in the "ON" position (even with ignition "OFF")."
SO since I'm still debugging my system - which way is ON and which way if OFF? With the switch in place under the steering column - do I turn to the right (toward the passenger side) for override or turn to the left (toward the driver side) for override.
