HD 2.50'' driveshaft
where could i find a 2.50'' dia HD driveshaft to cope with a 530tq engine, to swap in place of the stock 2.50'' '77 one? i know i'd need at least a 3'' shaft but i think there won't be space in the undercar tunnel, infact the shaft is not right centered but pass closer to the tunnel fm one side then the other side...so i was thinking maybe i could get a same diameter shaft but much stronger, any ideas? thanks/Giu

I had no problem fitting a 3 inch driveshaft. After twisting 2 stock driveshafts I had this one made up. Any driveshaft shop can whip you up a shaft. There is nothing specail about our yokes. It cost me $240 CDN complete with all new parts.

I got my driveshaft from Denny's and the thing is darn-near a work of art. I was running a pretty stout solid roller cam in my small-block before I switched the motor out to a World Engines 540. still the same drive shaft, no worries. the drive-shaft is indeed not centered in the tunnel.

I had my 2.5" one made locally out of .134 wall tubing and Spicer yokes. Works fine

A 3" shaft will fit but it is very tight and you probably need polyurethane motor mounts for it to work. I put my 3" aluminum shaft in after the mounts so I don't know if it would have touched with rubber mounts, but I would be a little worried seeing how little clearance there is.
