I don't think I could live with the constant blower whine.

ok everyone thanks for the info and yes, i will pick up a book or two, but just cause i said im a mechanic didnt mean i knew everything about the engine, i know how to fix not all the technical stuff, but not to worry i will be going off to tech school soon and will know the technical info. i will learn more stuff before i say anyhting technical ill make sure to let everyone know what i mean and everything, and i know i dont use capitols or periods but i could care less its not like im trying to write a essay im just chatting on a forum, as for the part about the ricers doubting the corvette, its happened very often to me, where someone will have a eclispe or something with a turbo and say they will waste the stingray. even though when we race i win they still dont give it credit, but i will soon change that, hopefully.....

ty all for the support

oh yea and to get the § in my name u simply hold down Alt and press 0167 on the numpad then release Alt, there are alot of the cool letters that i have the numbers 2 if u want one just ask

There are many SCs that are quiet and fit under the hood...

Just a thought??

Could he be talking about 5 inches of vacuum ??

And Stingray...my young padawan vette owner.

Drive your vette and read alot on it. Learn the ways of the corvette and the THE POWER OF THE SMALL BLOCK CHEVY...

Don't worry about the rice boyz... that is just what they are Boyzzz. If they wanna race keep it on the track. They drive like idiots ...

YOU have a VETTE now. You need to realize that Power and History that makes corvette ownership really, really unique.

For example... it looks like centrifigul ones doesnt have enough room, and what other roots could possibly fit besides the 144 and 177?

I've seen a lot of centrifugals and twin-screws up here (the *other* type of supercharger). They all fit, it's just that you have to custom make some of the parts. Here's mine (a few minutes after I had installed it last year). It fits under an L88 hood and makes no more noise than a power steering pump except for the massive rush of air. With the large, standard pulley, mine's putting out about 11lb boost.

Many of the C5s & C6s are running the Magnacharger systems that are similar in appearance but smaller. They fit under slighty larger than stock hoods.

I'm sure you'll make a fine mechanic, and maybe something more some day. Just tell the ricers the day that a ricer engine powers a top fuel car at NHRA and be competitive will be the day they'll have your respect, and if they give you any flack back just keep repeating it.

Wonder if it'd fit with a BB?

I plan to keep mine carburated, and I know I'll probly get laughed at, but I would like to keep a relativly low budget

So... I'm stuck for now with a SBC, and I want a supercharger that will fit under my under and still maintain the carburator ...

A 5" cam is probably a cam with 0.500" of lift at the valve. IMO

I think so. It would all depend on the deck height of the BB vs. the SB. The drawings I had show about 10.5 inches above the deck of a BB to the top of the SC. Plus, I've got some room left under my L88 hood.

You've got enough room at the front too?
