Default New Forum

The new forum has been up for awhile, so what do you think?

There needs to be change sometimes to make better.

Troy is trying to make the forum better. The forum was working pretty good. As many know this is Zeroforum in place of UBB.

It is running faster.

Plus running smoother & no scrolling if you keep your pics. to screen size.

Troy & Everyone

It takes a bit of getting used to but the speed increase is phenomenal so I like ti. The only thing I DON'T like is the search function. You can only search topics by starters, not by contributors. Can that be changed????l

My only complaint is I can't find the archives. Did we lose them again?

I know I'm computer challenged, but every search I've done in archived topics returns nothing. I was looking for the thread on ZL-1 Flares that I posted several months ago for someone that is considering attempting the mod.

Default Re: New Forum (Rolling Thunder)

The speed is great and the action icons make it a snap to add photos, etc.

I like the new site - and do have a few comments:

1. I would prefer to see "Posts" & "Views" status columnn before Creator and Date column. The posts and Views are a lmore important indicating factor than who created and date posted.
2. I would like to see less use of redundant smiley faces on posts. Maybe the use of extra smileys at the end of a post to x number.
3. I would also suggest (if possible) to limit the size of photo - especially signature photos.

I have had some problems searching he new site, but haven't really done my homework - I just figured out you have to log on to make posts/replys. I wonder if logging in also affects the ability to get 'help' to work.

No doubt - this site is awesome. Best of all, the forum moderators/programmers are always open to new ideas - not closed minded. That is worth its weight in gold.

Actually, though it doesn't make much sense, if you search by post bodies instead of by topic you get contributors...

If you search by topic you only get the ones they started...

I am not a real computer whiz to say the least! But, on the old Forum when I went to print out a topic page(s) the right third of the page never printed out. haven't yet tried to print from this format but would expect the same. How do you get the page to print the whole page??

thanks, mark

I like the new forum. Like everything that changes there are some things that you need to get used to. I would prefer to use Netscape instead of IE but I will use whatever browser I need to stay on the forum! :D

Thanks Troy

There is a little button in the upper right hand corner that says 'printable version'. Click on that and you will get an easy to print format of the entire thread.

My biggest complaint about many web sites is "Logging In," Why?? Why is it necessary to log in? When I surf and find a site or information I am interested, I hate having to "log in" and devise a name and password scheme. Other than that and with out a doubt, this is one of the BEST sites on the WWW. Troy and the gang do a great job, thanks!!

You don't have to login to view the threads. If you want to post you need to be logged in though. Forums that don't require registration tend to degenerate pretty quickly.

The old software required that you register and provide your username/password to post also. The main difference is that you put your password in everytime you made a post with the old one. With this one you need to login seperately, but you can stay logged in permanently. That way you don't need to enter in your info all the time.
