What glue to use?

Replacing the carpet on my rear compartments and was wondering if any special adhesive is required or if I can use 3M "spray adhesive"? Any input is appreciated.

I used contact cement over the wheel wells.

If you use 3M glue you need to let it get "tacky" for a few minutes before you start trying to stick carpet to it in those ackward places.

They sell a "heavy duty" version available at Home Depot. Worked well on mine.

theres two types one is a repositionable and the other is more permanent ....its good stuff

The good stuff is called 3M "777". It's expensive, but works great, watch your overspray, it will clean up with a little petrol on a shop towel.

I used clear RTV....

I noticed that they tend to use it at work for just about everything. Works great, remains pliable, and carpet can be easily removed, RTV removed, and reinstalled; if necessary.

Thanks guys-appreciate all the info. I'll see what's available tomorrow and give it a go, may end up using a couple of different things depending on the areas.
