Just wondering if anyone has taken a bone stock 69 down the 1/4 and if so what was the time. I understand that there where a range of rear ends as well as engine options, so any stock 69 1/4 time is fine.

I guess i should be specific due to all the options. I was wondering a 300 hp, 4spd, 3.08 rear , Just trying to solve a arguement anyone chime in here with any 69 model and options doesnt matter. Thank you
I have a 69 427/390HP with a 3.70 rear and a Muncie. I personally rebuilt the engine with specs very close to stock. The cam has slightly more duration, the rockers are roller units, and I use an HEI distributor. Other than that, it breathes through the stock intake and 2" exhaust. The compression ratio is right around 10 or 10.25 to 1. Anyway, my best time is 14.0 at 99MPH. It consistently runs between 14 and 14.2.
My buddy has a 69 convertible (mine is coupe) with a small block and an auto. His car has the larger valve heads (2.02 intakes) and headers. The two cars are very close to each other in speed. When we run, who gets ahead depends on what speed/gear we start in. Mine makes more torque, but with the quick shifts of the auto and the higher end HP, he can take me at some speeds. He had never had his down the 1/4.
Thanks alot guys that is kinda what I was thinking but my buddy was trying to tell me otherwise, his reason being is that he feels that me buying a old vette this summer is a bad idea and I should go with a old mustang there faster, he says.
Mine's stock 69 427/390hp with M21 and 3.08 rear. Has headers and 2 1/2" exhaust. Runs 14.5 consistently. Launch at around 3000rpm and shift at 4800-5000. 97 / 98 mph.
