Default Does a 71 350 auto have a kick down cable?

I just installed a new intake and carb and keep running across this kick down cable that according to edelbrock I should have running along with my throttle cable. I didnt disconnect anything else there I recall except my throttle cable...am I missing something?

The turbo 400 transmission in the Corvette's used an electric kickdown switch on the gas pedal. There is no cable or rod to the carburetor.

Correct, the 400th downshift is controlled by a detent switch and the 350TH has a cable to do the job.

breaux bridge whats been hapening? if your downshift is working and you dont have a kick down cable you have a turbo 400 trans. what intake and carb did you go with? be careful engine mods are addictive, first the intake and carb then cam, heads , headers, ignition. are you going to the meeting thursday?

sup Mark,
Went with Edelbrock Intake Manifold #2101 and Edelbrock carb #1406...not completely finished install as this is my first time attempting anything of this nature and making sure everything is legit before attempting to fire her up again. As far as the meeting, at the moment my home is for sale and my wife is switching jobs and we have so much crap goin on right now....we both figured we'd just wait until we get the move complete back to Breaux Bridge then I can go full throttle (pun intended) with the club.

Yep, on my 71 there's an electrical connector off the wiring harness that runs to the TH400 tranny and connects to a switch on the driver's side. It's got a rubber boot connector on it and I believe the wires are orange and black.
