Have the new motor dyno tuned, for a few extra bucks it is worth it and no more guessing as to the power you have

Great looking setup. What cam and crank are you putting in your new 383? Good luck on the new engine, let us know when you get it going.

As a silly question, what supports the motor besides the motor mounts when you pull the tranny? I assumed that the crossmember that the tail of the tranny bolts to sort of helped support the motor.

Just the motor mounts support the motor when the trans (or crossmember) is removed. In fact some vehicles like my 70 C10 pickup didn't use a trans crossmember on the 3 spd tranny.

Still u pin the air about the cam. Might use the same cam that I have a 294S 248 Dur @.050 with .525 lift, might go slightly bigger. The crank is an Eagle 4340 forged crank, rods are forged Eagle H beams.
I support the rear of the motor by putting something under the oil pan at the rear while the trans is out.
