I am having many problems with my Summit distributor, when I had 800 miles on the engine the module gave up on me then 100 miles later the condenser gave up. Now 50 miles more it is still giving me problems. For some reason the problem starts when it gets hot driving down the highway tacking just over 2200 rpm,s the tack starts bouncing. Then when I stop the car the engine idles ok at first then is shouts off like there is some sort of short? The car starts right up but this problem continues until the car has cooled down, then it is ok again?

strange..... i wonder if you have a high resistance circuit some where that the resistance is increasing with temp and you have a voltage drop....how clean is the battery connection to the dist?
Is the coil getting very hot? If the coil over heats it's internal resistance climbs, and you lose spark. The ignition module can cause the same symptoms. Especially the jumping tach. When you replaced the ignition module did you coat it with the white grease on the back. If not it will fail in a very short time. Keep us updated on the outcome.

I also agree! Good luck finding the problem, Dean.
