Default Sidepipes installation help needed

Purchased a set of factory 69 type sidepipes for my 77 vette with the fiberglass covers. Of course there are no instructions and no parts list. Does anyone know where I can get mounting instructions so I don't screw it up? Would appreciate any leads.

Assuming you are hooking them up to cast iron manifolds?

If so it becomes easier. The mufflers bolt right onto the manifolds.

Mount the exhaust end first ( loosly), then the manifold end second so you can get everything lined up properly.
The other end of the muffler is only held on by 1 bolt. The muff has a 'thing' sticking out near the end with a hole in it. thats what holds the muffler to the frame.

The bolt goes into the frame in a special keyhole. it is round on one end and long, like this O=== the round part allows you to put the bolt in the === part keeps the bolt from turning.

There are also two big rubber washers that keep the muffler from rattleing against the frame. One goes above the muffler thing, the other below it, with the bolt running through the two rubber washers and the thing. a nut and washer hold it all onto the car. Tighted the nut untill the rubber washers just start to bulge out.

The covers need holes drilled into them for the screws that go into the same holes the side moulding used. They are machine screws, not sheet metal screws like bubba used on my car.
Use the old side molding to figure out where the holes go.

double check before drilling ( dont ask how I know )

Thanks for the info sounds easy but I will find out soon. Just one additional Question: are there any spacers between the covers and the pipes?

there are no spacers on mine. The cover and the pipe do not touch each other.
