I am very mindful of the compression. 9:1 is about as high as I want to go and I dont want to go below 8.5:1

Ahhhh I guess there in lies the problem. I dont think I can afford custom pistons though I wish I could. I guess I am gonna be stuck with either speed-pros or probe, maybe I can upgrade to a Wiseco, SRP, or a Mahle piston

I think I am gonna have to compromise or just order custom pistons. Dang it dang it dang it.

They have an inverted dome but they're not the peanut shaped ones. They have one sort of close but that is for 9.5:1 compression.

?? for 9.5 compression? you dictate the compression by sleecting chamber & piston, Je has a 22cc inverted dome piston for small block chevies, with or without gas ports. Maybe you can call it a crooked heart shape or kidney shape but it's there in the catalog (at least it was last time I checked)

Page 4 has their inverted dome pistons. Maybe I am missing something.

Yes those extreme duty inv dome or the standard inv. dome...are those not what you are looking for? The 9.5 CR just relates to a racing class they were designed for to give that CR w/ a 64cc (kinda standard) chamber size. Look through the tables, resulting CR w/ chamber sizes listed for all pistons.

??? what do you want different? just select a piston and chamber combo that will give you the desired CR you want to run to be able to run the stick you want, the heads you want..and so on....

I thought you were talking about what was in the picture. There is a slight difference.

pic wasn't there last time I checked....anyway....

minimal difference, it has 2 quench pad, just like the standard inv. dome ones (the HD ones have 1 pad), that pic looks just like mine.

if you can't afford the custom pistons then why look at them? There's nothing wrong with the ones that are listed in the "ordinary" catalog.

I left you alittle bit of food for thought,Guru, in the turboM.... forum. Since we both are doing similar things.

Well nothing has been purchased yet, still trying to be a vacuum for information right now. I have decided to go with a single master power turbo with a .96 turbine A/R. Here is the turbo . As for the exhaust manifold, I was thinking of using the 2 1/2 inch rams horns cast iron manifolds with a pipe coming out at the middle of the passenger side to the turbo. a 2 1/2 inch crossover pipe will come from the drivers side manifold and go uinder the oil pan and into the passenger side manifold. The turbo will sit about level with the cylinder head. I will not have an air to air intercooler at first but will probably be added later. I will be using water/meth injection off the bat though. I will be using a blow through carb system. I will be using my existing cylinder heads and intake manifold. My heads are the old gen 1 twisted wedges and the manifold is a performer rpm air gap. I know single plans perform better than duels but I am going to see If I can see if my goals can be reached with my existing one. I'll be using a hydrallic flat tappet cam since I dont want to rev much past 6000 rpm. Forged pistons and crank will be used with good connecting rods. This will be a 355 cid engine.

I just contacted Flatlanderracing.com, apparently they can make me a set of custom forged pistons for $625 bucks with pins. This isnt that bad. Thats cheaper than JE pistons. Hopefully me and the tech are on the same page.

I have been trying to repeat and hammer the point home that I want a piston that mimics and continues the chamber shape so as to take full advantage of the fastburn style chamber.

Now I just have to let my wife spend 625 bucks.

This is funny. The guy I was asking about asked if I was making a top fuel car. when I said no, he asked why I was so obsessed with piston crown shape. I replied that I was bored and it gave me something interesting to think about.

But for 625 bucks I will get the result of 40 years of piston design for racing cars. I was trying to have a more indepth conversation but I dont think he really wanted to. I think I am frustrating.
