A friend got a T56 ( was ment for a C4 ? ) and likes to install it into his C3.
He would like to know what he needs to change in order to have the mechanical speedo output.
I bought a GM T56 Viper tranny from D&D 1 year ago and this had a differenmt tail housing with this mechanical speedo output that just accepted the ordinary M21 speedo gears.
Seeing as how thats a Borg Warner T56, I'm guessing that it was from an LT1 F-Body. If so, you'll need to customize your console, speedo, and bang on your trans tunnel a bit. The yoke is the same, the trans will sit right on top of the x memeber with a GM trans mount and obviously you need to shorten the drive shaft. You need an LT1 clutch and centerforce flywheel 700107. For more info do a search, someone new asks this question everyday it seems like.
Yes, I know.
The question is only valid for the mechanical speedo output.
He likes to know if this tranny tail housing can be modified to accept the mechanical speedo cable somehow.
