Default Rev Limiter

I have not yet taken my car to the track, but my motor should make power to 6500rpm, so I'm guessing that I'll shift right about there. Where should I set the rev limiter? Would 6800 rpm be too close?

Thats about right or maybe 7000 rpm would nt be to high .Are you using a air or electric shifter or are you hand shifting ?

6500 ------ My drag bike even had an ignition cutout when you shift. My vette also shifts when the motor is misfirering from the rev limiter. That way it's not making any serious HP and blowning up parts behind the engine.

Same thing with two stage rev limiters. The low rpm set is for the burnout also the car is misfiring at the staging lights with a transbrake or clutch until you release and go.
