My 1982 Vette will not run without adding gas to the throttle bodies. Whenever the motor is cranking, gas is only dripping into the throttle bodies. Shouldn't it be spraying in? Where should I begin? Thank you for your time

Begin by changing the fuel filter, followed by a fuel pressure check. Sounds like you have a fuel delivery problem.
Thanks...I do not hear any fuel pump sound whenever the key is turned on like the newer cars. Should I?
If you heard one before but not now, definitely. Check your fuses too, maybe there's one for the fuel pump that's blown. If that's the case try replacing the fuse, if it blows again you've found your problem.
I don't find any fuses marked fuel pump or anything similar. Does anyone know if any of the other fuses are linked to the fuel pump? I will have to check them all I guess. I have been working under the dash near the fuse block the last couple of days on the dash lights. Coincidentally, the car would not start after my fuse episode. Oh, and by the way....What genius designed the placement of that fuse block? I'm getting too old for those kind of positions. Thanks everyone.

Take the fuel line off the carb and have someone turn the key and then crank the engine..I'd have plenty of rags around...it should shoot fuel out the line, if not, the fuel pump either went south, filter is plugged, or (IMO, doubtful) the aforementioned fuse is blown...have you heard the pump cycle in the past when turning the key? I didn't think there was electric pumps in 82, of course I've been wrong before, afterall these ARE Vettes...you could also follow the fuel line to find the pump, if electric, check for voltage, it might even be IN the tank if it's electric, but there should be a power connector..just my 2 cents...good luck
I removed the fuel filter behind the right front tire. While I had the line loose I cranked the engine. Gas did not come out of the line, other than what was dripping out previously. I have removed the fuel pump from the tank and will replace it today along with the fuel filter. I had no way of checking to see if there was current to the switch. I can only hope these two steps help. Thanks for the help everyone.
