Default standard vs. deluxe interior question

Other than the carpet and seat covers, what are the differences between standard and deluxe interiors?

Seat covers, carpet, door panels (not different, but they have a wood insert, chrome c-insert, and a carpeted bottom), and shift console wood insert.

On my 1977 the door panels are deluxe, that is carpeting on the bottom of the door panel and chrome strip
as well as a black insert plate located where the door pull is. Cost is approximately $111 more than a
standard door.
If you can get your hands on a Corvette America catalog you can see the difference. page #82
God luck!

Aren't the stock Deluxe seat covers some blend of leather/vinyl, as opposed to 100% leather?
Thanks

Yes....thats why I specified the "seating areas" in my post.... the deluxe has leather on the top of the lower seat cushion, where your *** goes, and the seatbacks have leather on the "front" side, where your back goes.. the "seating areas"

Maybe seating "surfaces" is more appropriate and correct.

Ah, I see.

Given the choice, which would you prefer, the period correct leather/vinyl combo, or 100% leather from Al Knoch?
Thanks

The 100% leather from Wilcox Chevrolet. However, I didnt read whether you are doing a "correct" restoration, or not. If you are, I'd go with the leather/vinyl from Wilcox. My all leather seats (Wilcox) look fantastic, but I am not one who went all original. My car is a resto-mod.

I'm an 'all original' guy, but not that much. I'm leaning towards 100% leather.

Folks seem to say Al Knock makes the best seat covers, are they that much better than Wilcox's?

Thanks

I purchase my leather seat covers and deluxe interior from Al Knoch and the quality can not be beat. I like the Al Knoch covers because you can buy them with the installation hardware already installed. I have alway installed my own and have not had any problems.

Hi,
I believe Al Knock still offers a video guide for installing the seat covers.
I found it to be a help when I recovered my seats a few years ago.
I think it's a good idea to leave the covers on one seat while you work on the other. That way you can refer to the original to see just how it was done.
Regards,
Alan
