Converted to electronic ignition today
Took about 2 hours to pull the points/condenser, install the Crane XR-i conversion, replace the coil, set the timing and a minor adjustment to the Q-jet. Since there's still snow and ice on my driveway and the road, unfortunately no road test today.
Contrary to the implied instructions, I did have to pull the distributor. Primarily because you'd have to Tinkerbell to thread the new wires through and replace the grommet with the distributor in place.
The conversion unit installed. Haven't tamed the wire with the keeper yet.
The flashy new Pertonix coil. Which will be hidden behind the stock shroud.
