This past weekend I replaced all the brake pads (AC Delco) and re-bled the system. The brakes work great (stops straight and true)...BUT when I coast to a red light (foot off the brake) I hear a chirping noise (after driving around and the brakes are hot). The split-second I touch the brake pedal....the noise disappears. Has this ever happened to anyone and what is it?
This is not that uncommon. As you know the pads actually ride up against the rotor. If a little dirt or dust is built up, then this can cause the chirping noise. However, I'm suspecting that you didn't turn or dress your rotors when replacing the pads. There's no need to have the rotors turned when replacing pads unless they are out-of-round or have some very deep scratchs. However, you should always dress both sides of the rotors by a brisk sanding with 40-80 grit sand paper to remove the glaze.
I had this problem. It drove me crazy, I replaced every brake part on the car, had the rotors cut. Turns out the rotors need to be shimmed to run true. I had this done and no more chirps.
I think mine was doing exactly what you're talking about. the brakes squeaked in time with how fast the wheel was turning and stopped squeaking as soon as you touch the brake pedal. I pulled the wheel and with the rear up on stands, put it in gear and watched the caliper move slightly in and out on the pins. After watching that, I just took the pins out and greased them and problem solved.

You are talking about the pins that hold the pads in the caliper correct?
I hope the above solves your problem. Only when the shop checked my drive axles (diff-wheel) and replaced the one that turned out to be bent ( ) I got rid of those d*#ned 'birds nestst' in the back of the car.

Mine do that, was gonna suggest that..it's not a horrible sound and mine are intermittent...basically, I ignore it...
