Default Trying to remove my seat..........

I've got the seat cushion off and I've noticed there are (4) bolts attaching the seat base. The front (2) have been removed due to the screw threads being exposed. The back (2) however, have the screw heads under the seat. This makes it almost impossible to get to the screw to remove. Am I missing something?

Thanks,
David

There are 4 studs on the seat mount that go thru the floor of the car and have a nut on the bottom, under the car. Remove the nuts is the easiest way to get the seats out.

I never new there were nuts under the car?? Our seats are held in by 5/16th screws with the nuts welded to the floor. To remove the seat put the seat all the way back and remove the 2 front bolts then put the seat all the way forward and remove the 2 back bolts.
You normally don't go under the car.

I have an 81 with the same problem..The seat was frozen back all the way ..ended up grinding off the bolts ..after the seat came out I just unscrewed the track bolts, no nuts, if you look under the car it does look like there are nuts.. JUST UNBOLT THE TRACK AND THE SEAT ASSEMBLY WILL COME OUT..

Is that 78 up or all metal floors (76, 77 too) or what?

Mine is an 81, I thought all the C3 were the same way but I guess not. Can't say whats on other years
Simple to pull the seats, I use an air ratchet, takes a minute or two.

I installed studs instead of using bolts. It is easier to get the seats in and out with studs. Isn't it Norval!

Bernie, worked for another manufactuer back in the 70's they had studs for the bucket seats very much easier to install seats shoot nuts with air gun seat installed. however in the job i had also had to install belts never will forget the night i hung my thumb under the bolt and washer that helt the seat belt in. rode down the line with the car untill the repair man could release my thumb.

Same on my '79, takes about two minutes a seat.
