hello and thanks for reading this. I've started something that I don't know if I can finish, or become easily frustrated w/. I've swapped the 350 out for a 383 about a year ago in my 79. I've yet to hear the motor run - I originally was going to go w/ emission legal stuff all the way, but i didn't like how one tube of the headers was so close to a zerk fitting for the steering. and the egr / valve cover kept messing me up as they were hitting, so i was gonna cover it - but then decided to just go non emissions "compliant" - so i exchanged the headers, got the dynomax - fit just great, but the a/c bracket no longer "works" since the original exhaust manifold was much thicker, so i ordered the a/c bracket that is for that header - recv'd it - not really sure how to mount it, and also the valve covers are too tall (roller rockers) for the bar that goes from the intake to the back of the a/c bracket. I've thought about not running a/c but - uh - it's TX and those summers are hot.
does anyone have a picture of this bracket installed, or advise on what/where to valve covers to use that will clear the rockers.

I spaced mine out with 3/8 or so, thick spacers on the bolts. Fits fine a year later. I'll try to show you a pic later today if I can get to it. I had to use short valve covers...when I built the engine originally I had tall cast aluminum ones.
Whe putting it in the car, none of the accessories would work with them. I got short ones and used extra thick NAPA gaskets so the roller rockers would not hit the covers.
