I have searched, found, and read all the posts regarding fuel pumps and fuel pump relays on the forum. Very helpful, but I am up against a wall now. After a drive down a very, very bumpy road, my 82 Collectors edition decided not to start. Pour a touch of fuel in the TB's and it fires right up. So, fuel problem. First, I found a wire broken on in the tank feeding the fuel pump. So, while in here, I put a new fuel pump. At 117K miles, I thought it wise. But, still no fuel at TB's. I have checked what I thought you guys were saying about the FP relay, and decided to go ahead and put a new one in. Well, in the process of finding one at GM Direct, the picture didn't match what I am looking at.
I am looking behind the passenger seat, in the storage bin, on the front wall of this bin. There are three items mounted and the middle one appears to be a relay. HOWEVER, this relay has 6 wires to it, not the 5 like my Shop Manual schematic indicates. This one has wires on one end that are Orange Black and Yellow and then on the other end the 3 wires are Gray, Green, and white.
Am I looking at the FP relay or something else? Or, does the Collectors Edition have something different? Or, am I just screwed up?
Thanks,
Buddy
