We're ready for new tires on our 72 coupe. We're looking seriously at Goodyear Eagle GTII in the 255/60/15 size. Anyone have experience with these tires? How about that size -- will they fit OK? Thanks for your help!

Re: Goodyear Eagle GTII - do you like them? (Greg72)
Greg, size is no problem, have them all around on my 70. I did not like wear or traction. I currently like and have BFGTA's. Speed rating is low, but good mileage and traction with a low price. :yesnod:

Re: Goodyear Eagle GTII - do you like them? (Greg72)
I had Goodyear Eagle GT tires (not the GTIIs). I did not like them at all. They had nearly no traction at all on anything that might even look wet. I also had a side wall blowout on one of them while driving at ~40MPH. Just weren't good tires. I'm now running Pirelli Scorpion Zeros 255/60VR15. They are MUCH better. Lots of traction, good wet weather tire, and rated up to 149MPH.

Got em and have no problems with them. I only drive on warm sunny days though and they are mild to moderate mountain cruises. For the price I got them for, I'm happy.

I was under the impression that the GTIIs were no longer available. I even checked the Goodyear web site. I am probably wrong tho, I frequently am. :bb
I have the BFGoodrich TAs myself. I wish I had the Pirelli Scorpion Zeros but I really like the look of the white letters. I do like the BFGs a lot. Espeas
The car had General XP2000II atires on it when I bought it. I [/b]hated[/b] them. NO traction in any kind of wet conditions. Looked funny too.
