I recently replaced my rear brake calipers because (surprise) the original piston cylinders were corroded and leaking brake fluid. Apparently the previous owner replaced the fronts calipers with stainless, but not the rears. Anyhow, I also put new pads on the rear brakes but kept the original rotor.
It's not really a big problem, but now when I hit the brakes, the rears squeal real loud and my car sounds like a truck stopping. Is this normal with new pads and usually goes away or is there something I forgot to do that's causing the noise? I ordered the set of reaar calipers from Muskegon Brake and they threw in a set of free pads, so I don't know what kind of pads they are.
My rear brakes were squeaking like a ***** and I had to go and replace the pads...I used Bendix............Semi's and they stopped..May also wanna use shims or brake stop squeal goo :yesnod:
